The Danbury Overflow Homeless shelter provides shelter during the cold weather to the homeless in Danbury. It is an overflow shelter, in that it is not year round; it is just open in the colder months when there is not enough space at the year-round homeless shelter.
Aside from a place to sleep, small provisions are provided. Socks, gloves, toiletries. Volunteers bring snacks (fruit and cheese, etc.). The volunteers are monitors who sleep overnight at the shelter to ensure orderly behavior.
The Shelter is just one of the services provided by DOROTHY DAY HOSPITALITY HOUSE - Feeding the hungry and sheltering the homeless in the Danbury CT area since 1982
Dorothy Day Hospitality House is not formally affiliated with any religious organization, and people of all faiths participate in our work.
I am asking for you to donate to the Dorothy Day Hospitality House.
