My name is Janet Vallance and I am a second year Graduate student in the field of Conservation. I am getting a 3.85 in my studies and am focusing on designing systems helping wildlife survive wildfire and drought through innovative rainwater harvesting and ecological restoration.
I have volunteered thousands of hours to Giant Steps (Horse Riding for Special Needs Kids), California Animal Rescue and Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue over the last 10 years. I am a very hard worker with a lot of drive to fix what is wrong and have an active problem solving mind. My professors are giving me high marks on solutions for global warming and it's affects on wildlife and plant life. I am focusing mostly on restoring habitat similar to what was done by the CCC in the 1930's. There is long term precedent for what these designs have produced over the last 85 years including seed saving, shade production and water catchment.
I am a survivor of kidnapping and much close family death and accidents. I am working very hard this year to form healthy relationships with new people as this has been very challenging since I was kidnapped in 2012.
I am working to start a new career mid-life. I massaged 15,000 people in the last 20 years and I want to move my drive for relieving suffering to the impending environmental crisis we are facing. I need help getting through the rest of my training at Colorado State University which is offering an excellent opportunity for me studying Environmental Law and Civil Engineering/ GIS (Map Making) this semester. Please look at the webpage I am including to see the exciting solutions that are possible for the changes that our environment is facing. There are solutions that I am learning how to implement with the current innovative involvement of non-profits, government agencies and volunteers. I hope to gain employment in Government and the Non-profit world to help humans, animals and wildlife through drought and fire specifically.
Any funds will go directly towards supporting my studies, mostly through researching and case study writing as well as learning the software to GIS which is required as a Natural Resource Specialist.
Please look at the website below where I provided much of my research and plans.
