This fund will contribute to the organization of the March for Science - Silicon Valley, a sister march to similar events across the globe taking place on April 22, 2017 in San Jose, CA.

The March for Science Silicon Valley celebrates the crucial role science plays in driving our economic growth, preserving our environment, and protecting the health of our communities. We unite as a diverse, nonpartisan group to call for policymakers to champion and fund science that upholds the common good and to advocate for evidence-based policies in the public interest at the local, state, and national levels.

Your donation will be used to fund the Silicon Valley March for Science. Our fiscal administrator is The Chris Shaheen Charitable Foundation. All net proceeds will be donated to the Silicon Valley Education Foundation, the Tech Museum of Innovation, and Sigma Xi.

Silicon Valley Education Foundation is a nonprofit resource and advocate for students and educators. SVEF drives scholastic achievement in the critical areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) by combining resources and partnerships to provide innovative academic programs. SVEF is a catalyst for policy solutions in public education.

The Tech Museum of Innovation is a hands-on technology and science museum for people of all ages and backgrounds. The museum — located in the Capital of Silicon Valley — is a non-profit experiential learning resource established to engage people in exploring and experiencing applied technologies affecting their lives. The Tech’s mission is to inspire the innovator in everyone.

Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society is the world’s largest multidisciplinary honor society for scientists and engineers. Its mission is to enhance the health of the research enterprise, foster integrity in science and engineering, and promote the public understanding of science for the purpose of improving the human condition. Sigma Xi chapters can be found at colleges and universities, government laboratories, and industry research centers around the world. More than 200 Nobel Prize winners have been members.

The Chris Shaheen Charitable Foundation was founded on the belief that at-risk children require our attention, advocacy and assistance, and vulnerable populations in particular need our support. Our mission is to support organizations and programs serving vulnerable populations and at-risk children through the advancement of education; to improve or develop individual capabilities; assist children who have special education needs; support services to children in foster care and their families; and identify the critical needs of children in our community and provide preventive investments to ensure the likelihood of positive outcomes for these at-risk populations.
