On December 12, 2019, the day after my birthday, my water broke at only 26 weeks gestation. My contractions began after I got to hospital and immediately there was a complication. With every contraction her heart rate dramatically dropped more and more with every one. Doctors rushed me into the operating room and our beautiful baby Nova Lynn was born at 5:45pm via emergency cesarean section. She weighed just 2lbs 4oz.
While Nova is doing exceptionally well in the NICU despite her tiny size, she has many hurdles to overcome before she can come home. On average a preemie without any other complications typically stays in the NICU until around their due date. Nova's was March 15th, 2020 so she has lengthy hospital stay ahead. During this time our family will also have many hurdles to overcome both personally and financially.
We are going to have many extra financial expenses regarding any uncovered medical treatments, transportation to and from the hospital, extra food and care costs for the family during the hospital stay ect. And due to the emergency c section I am unable to return to work until after the new year. We are seeking the goodness of family, friends and strangers like you that might be willing to help with Baby Nova's recovery. Your donations will help us, especially Baby Nova tremendously, by allowing us to make sure she gets all the treatment she needs regardless the cost and to be there with her as much as possible while she continues to grow and fight through this difficult time.
We want to thank all of you for all the love and support you've shown us and hope you have been having a wonderful holiday season. Happy New Year Everyone.
