Earth Day Alliance has been hosting a free annual Earth Day Fair since 1990. As a grassroots volunteer organization we rely on the community for funding. Local funding by SLO County Supervisors and APCD is drying up and large solar businesses are leaving the area. We are in need of community support to carry out the 27th annual Earth Day Fair & Music Festival. This one day, free event will take place on Saturday, April 22 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at El Chorro Regional Park, located on Hwy One; across from Cuesta College. Bus rides from the SLO Downtown Transit Center and back will be free.

A newly elected President and cabinet that are climate change deniers, underscores the importance of working together to keep global warming below two degrees Celsius. This is the level at which scientists say climate change will have seriously detrimental effects on the human population. Earth Day provides an opportunity for the community to connect with businesses, non-profit groups, schools, students and individuals and families who come to share a message, product or cause that will help create a healthy sustainable future.

The first Earth Day took place in 1970 when pollution had reached its limit. Forty-seven years later, Earth Day is celebrated around the world and used to voice the willingness of human beings to innovate and create ideas geared towards living in cooperation with our planet. With the state of the environment reliant on the cooperation of governments, businesses and the public, Earth Day events play a significant role in inspiring action.

Come to Earth Day and explore the Eco Market Place, Kid's Zone, Public Square, Health & Wellbeing Center and the Green Car Show. Meet local elected representatives, hear inspiring speakers, enjoy live music, good food and beverages and make new friends.
